About.
Everyone knows someone who is or was a commercial fisherman. Almost everyone knows someone who has lost a relative, loved one, friend or acquaintance to the Commercial Fishing Industry. In 1991, a small group of folks (Pat Weber, Bob Millard, Elsie Osborne, and Linnea Osborne) got together in Juneau with the mission of building a memorial to departed commercial fishermen, for those especially who have been lost at sea - for some of whom the Memorial now serves as their only grave.
There are nearly 300 names on the Wall (either engraved or pending engraving). Many of them are starred - indicating that they died and/or were lost at sea. For many of those who were lost at sea, the Memorial Wall is their only grave.
